ABOUT DR. GALLEGOS

Doctor Gallegos is a Board-Certified Small Animal Surgeon in Southeastern Wisconsin. Originally from the Bay Area of California, Dr. Gallegos relocated to Madison, WI to attend the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. Following his passion for surgery, Dr. Gallegos furthered his education and training, completing a one-year rotating internship at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, a one-year surgical internship in Phoenix, AZ, and a three-year surgical residency at Edinger Surgical Options in Madison, WI.

Prior to establishing Otra Surgical Options, Dr. Gallegos worked as a staff surgeon at a busy specialty and emergency hospital. Doctor Gallegos is proficient in all aspects of orthopedic, soft tissue, and neurological surgery. He enjoys teaching and has played an active role in the training of veterinary students and recent veterinary graduates/interns. Doctor Gallegos attends continuing education conferences annually to remain at the forefront of research and surgical techniques.

Outside of work, Dr. Gallegos enjoys restoring vintage cars, traveling, and spending time with his two children and partner, Nicole. A Chihuahua named Stuart holds a special place in his heart.
